We are very lucky to be based at New Barn Livery in Ollerton, Cheshire, owned by Pamela Rigby MBE (BHSII). New Barn is a unique equestrian venue offering a range of facilities and services, and is completely geared towards meeting the needs of our Group.
The majority of our sessions take place in the covered school, which measures 60m x 20m. It has a Pro-Wax surface, lights, mirrors and PA system. It also boasts separate spectator entrances and horse entrances, a comfortable spectator seating area, wheelchair access and wheelchair-friendly mounting ramps. The school is bright and airy, yet protected from the prevailing winds at the same time.
During the summer months we use the paddocks for our ‘Countryside Challenge’ course. This gives our riders the opportunity to leave the arena but still remain in a safe environment. Our wonderful band of volunteers have created an excellent course with obstacles such as gates, a post box and an archway.
The yard itself is also easily accessible to minibuses, is wheelchair-friendly, and has a disabled toilet.
As well as the group ponies that are stabled here, we use New Barn horses and ponies in all our sessions.
New Barn also offers a heated classroom, kitchen facilities, and stables to hire for short term/emergency livery, along with ‘Rocky’, one of the few Riding Simulators in Cheshire! As well as hosting the Mid Cheshire Group, New Barn is home to ‘New Barn Riders’, a social group for local riders and horse owners which meets on the third Wednesday of every month for talks and demos on a wide range of topics, and runs lots of activities throughout the year.
New Barn is ideally located, just a ten minute drive from junctions 18 and 19 on the M6, and situated on the A537 between Knutsford and Macclesfield.
